Graduate Programmes

B.E. (Electrical & Electronics Engineering-EEE)
The program in Electrical & Electronics Engineering is one of the four premier undergraduate degrees offered by the SSN College of Engineering. The curriculum for BE (EEE) includes the following study areas:

  • Computer aided Power Systems Engineering

  • Non Conventional Energy Sources

  • Advanced Control Theory

  • Bio Medical Instrumentation

  • Transmission Design

The Electrical Engineering department is equipped with the following labs: Electrical Machines Lab, Power Electronics Lab, Control and Instrumentation Lab and Electrical Workshop Lab. There is a pronounced emphasis on computer based learning, and every effort is made to provide a “theory-meets-practice” approach through sophisticated Labs. This program offers exposure to the software and hardware aspects of IT. Students of the EEE stream usually opt for specialised careers in the hardware industry.

B.E. (Electronics & Communications Engineering-ECE)
The undergraduate degree program in Electronics & Communications Engineering focuses on communications technologies of the future. The specialisations offered are:

  • Satellite Communication

  • Digital Communication

  • Fibre Optic Communication

  • Microwave Communication

  • Microprocessor Design

The ECE Department is equipped with the following labs: Integrated Circuit & Instruments Lab, Communication Lab, Microprocessor Lab, Electronics Lab and the Digital Signal Processing Lab. On graduation, ECE students generally pursue careers in the hardware and software industry. With the current trends in the market place, a number of students opt for the later. Many opt to pursue higher studies - M.S. programs in computer science, especially in the VLSI area.

B.E. (Computer Science Engineering-CSE)
The B.E. (CSE) is a technology-intensive course, and is led by a distinguished faculty. This undergraduate program attracts the best among high school graduates.

  • Artificial Intelligence & Expert Systems

  • Computer Architecture

  • Programming Languages

  • Software Engineering

  • Design & Analysis of Algorithms

CSE students have access to seven common labs in the campus. The Department has established a student chapter of the Computer Society of India (CSI) at the college. The B.E. (CSE) program aims at producing world-class hardware & software engineers.

B.Tech. (Information Technology-IT)
The B.Tech (IT) program focuses on the emerging technologies of the 21st century. The program focuses on:

  • Computer Organisation & Architecture

  • Software Engineering

  • Systems Analysis & Design

  • Database Management Systems

  • Broad Band Communications

  • Management Information Systems

B.Tech (IT) students have access to the extensive computer facility on campus. This undergraduate program aims at the needs of the new technology enterprises. Students of B.Tech (IT) opt for careers in software programming, hardware engineering, and new technology areas.
